Barbora Malecova

Barbora Malecova is a scientific leader at Avidity Biosciences, where she has played a key role in advancing RNA-targeted therapies for rare neuromuscular diseases. With a career spanning muscle biology, regenerative medicine, and therapeutic development, she has contributed to the discovery and preclinical development of antibody oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs), including programs targeting myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) and facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). She previously conducted award-winning academic research in skeletal muscle regeneration and muscular dystrophy and has authored numerous publications in the field. Barbora combines deep expertise in translational science with a passion for developing innovative treatments for patients with rare muscle disorders.
