Jun Shi

Director of Muscle Disease Research Biogen

Jun Shi is Director of Muscle Disease Research at Biogen, where she leads efforts to advance innovative therapies for muscular disorders. She joined Biogen in 2021 following more than a decade at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where she served as a lab head and project leader focused on muscle biology, regenerative medicine, and age-related diseases.
Dr. Shi holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Boston University School of Medicine and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning muscle homeostasis, muscle atrophy, and therapeutic target discovery. Her research combines deep scientific expertise in muscle disease mechanisms with a strong track record of translating biological insights into drug development strategies. At the summit, she will share her perspective on the strengths, limitations, and future potential of the diverse therapeutic modalities being explored across the muscular disorder landscape.
