Mathias Schmidt

Mathias Schmidt, PhD is Chief Executive Officer of ArmaGen and Executive Fellow and Advisor to the Chairman of JCR Pharmaceuticals, where he plays a key role in advancing innovative therapies for rare diseases, particularly lysosomal storage disorders and brain-penetrant biologics. With more than 25 years of experience across drug discovery, clinical development, regulatory strategy, business development, and executive leadership, he has held senior positions at JCR, Takeda, Nycomed, and Altana Pharma. Dr. Schmidt has extensive expertise in blood-brain barrier technologies, orphan drug development, and global commercialization. A trained pharmacologist and cell biologist, he has authored approximately 50 peer-reviewed publications and remains a passionate advocate for delivering transformative therapies to patients with rare diseases.
